Sacred Circles ~ An Invitation

Sacred Circles are a Mini Retreat.
A 2-hour Sovereign Immersion into Midwifery for the Soul.

Hello Beautiful Sisters,

It’s been a while since I’ve touched base. I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely been riding the waves of the wild times we’re living in. I feel I’m in a constant state of transition. The moment I even think I’m standing on solid ground, the ground shifts. It’s simultaneously highly challenging and halfway exhilarating.

I’ve been working on some group offerings I’d like to share with you. I’ve been feeling called to gather in circle with sisters, as well as, offer what I consider small tastes of deeper experiences that can unfold in my 1:1 Sacred Mentorship — The Desert Sage Journey. Whether or not you ever decide to explore the mentorship, you may find these Sacred Circles quite fun, interesting, nurturing and possibly healing!

“When women come together and make a commitment to each other to be in a circle with a spiritual center, they are creating a vessel of healing and transformation for themselves, and a vehicle for change in their world."

—Jean Shinoda Bolen

I keep returning to an experience I received many years ago as an assistant teacher in a Visionary Craniosacral Work class, with my teacher, Hugh Milne. The students were all divided into smaller circles. Each assistant was given a circle to observe, hold space for, and support if needed. It feels impossible to put into words all the ways in which I supported the circle of women I was assigned to that day. My experiences in The Milne Institute, both as a student and an assistant teacher were always very liminal and other worldly. What I remember most, is feeling completely submerged in my element, totally authentic and connected to my highest and deepest self; as if I was exactly where I was meant to be.

When the circle work came to a completion, my teacher approached me, held me by my shoulders, looked straight into my soul and very firmly stated, “Hilary!! One thing I know for certain — You have to teach. You have to work with women and you have to work with groups. This is how you teach Hilary. This is how you teach” Hugh had this way of transmitting messages that touched the deepest places of my being. I’ve never forgotten this moment but I have resisted it’s truth for a large variety of reasons.

In truth, I really love 1:1 work. I’m an introvert of the highest degree. I thrive in silence, solitude and sanctuary. I absolutely shine in the intimacy of placing all my focus and intention on one person moving through the depths of transition and the heights of self expansion. I personally needed and benefited greatly from intimate 1:1 work with all of my teachers and many healers over the years. Because I’m so sensitive and empathic, I found the group field could at times be distracting. The undivided focus and attention of working 1:1 with teachers and healers really supported me in embodying my own truth, free from any outside influence.

All this said, I cannot stress enough how sitting in circle with a group of souls and a common theme or intention has truly shaped me into the person I am. I’ve sat in hundreds if not thousands of circles throughout my life. The power of a group field is profound to say the very least. Everyone becomes a mirror and therefore a teacher if we can open our hearts and allow for that.

When I first began receiving the vision for Sage for My Sisters over 15 years ago, it absolutely involved Circles. After that experience with my teacher, I began facilitating women’s circles in various places. I longed to provide a space where women could come together, share from their hearts and allow whatever wanted to come up, to come up, while feeling safe, seen, held, heard and supported.

I learned a lot about what worked and even more about what didn’t work. Gradually I decided it was not the right time for me to be offering circles. I continued focusing on my personal healing journey, my 1:1 private practice, my work as a birth doula, and eventually towards my calling in hospice work, which has been my main focus for many years now.

Needless to say, despite great effort in many moments, I never fully let go of this vision for Sage for my Sisters. Forever a devoted student of life; endlessly brewing and stewing on creative ideas and visions for my future. She is a force. She has a life all on her own. She is also a direct extension of me. Sage for my Sisters is the container from which I pour forth my creative works and build my legacy. We’ve both undergone countless transformations and will continue to do so. I’m in this! Full stop. Like a mother who conceives, births and commits to her children; providing, supporting, nurturing, and lovingly holding space for their continued growth evolution.

I’ve spent so much time trying to put into words and define how it is I teach. I’m not sure it’s something I'll ever be able to fully define. Creating the container of Sage for my Sisters has definitely given me some structure; but no doubt this just another beginning along the continuum of my life. I’m proud of myself for having come this far in my personal evolution, healing journey, and the building of my legacy; and for all the ways I’ve shown up for myself, others, and for my work and service in this world.

The diverse ways in which I teach and hold space are very dependent on the person or group field I’m with. It’s dependent on getting out of my own way, opening my heart to really listen, and stepping into the mystery of the present moment with an individual or group. It’s transmissive, much like I described with my teacher. It’s liminal and experiential, often ineffable.

A force much greater than myself begins to move me — to speak from my heart, to hold myself very inward while maintaining an outward focus. To see with my inner eye and listen with my inner ear. To sense the river beneath the river. To stand back or move closer. To prompt, intuit, or stay very still and silent. To guide or not, and get completely out of the way of what’s moving all on its own. To share a personal story or some wisdom I’ve gained from my own life experience. To be an embodied presence, without ever claiming to know what’s best for anyone, other than myself. It’s believing in every single soul to know for themselves, exactly what they need in any given moment, and to be able to learn from their own life experiences. It’s being with others, while standing in my personal sovereignty; leading and teaching by example! As it is for all of us, it’s very unique to me.

I’m essentially gifted at stepping into the mystery of a present moment experience, sensing the field, aka “reading the room” and trusting what comes up from within me, moves me or wants to come through me. I have many tools, practices, gifts, trainings, and experiences in my inner library and creating safe containers for myself and others is something I’m extremely passionate about. We all need safe spaces to connect with and explore the depths of our inner world and heights of our absolute highest selves

Intention is unbelievably powerful. Following and honoring the cycles within our bodies, being, the earth, and cosmos, holds tremendous wisdom. The New and Full Moon combined with the astrological archetypes and elements she’s moving through, are potent portals that have informed and transformed me in ineffable ways. These sacred portals can serve as mirrors into the self. This practice can be fun, interesting, rich with wisdom, witchy, whimsical, magical, deeply nurturing and healing. It can be simultaneously challenging and very enlightening, in the absolute best of ways.

If you’ve managed to read all of this. I thank you. This is me following the guidance of my heart to share what’s coming up from within me. Perhaps these words and offerings will hold meaning for you. Perhaps not. Either way, thank you for being here. I deeply appreciate your presence.

I’d like to invite you into the portal of Sacred Circles. We’ll be following the cycles of the New and Full Moon for the rest of 2026 and inviting her astrological archetypes and elements to be with us, serving as wisdom bearers for our time together.

If you feel called, I’d love to be with you in one, two, three, or all of the circles. Please feel free to share with women in your own circle who may resonate and don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have questions or feel curious and want to chat about it. I’m here.

May your heart lead the way,
Always,
Hilary

Sacred Circles

A Sacred Gathering with Sisters

This is an invitation to gather yourself inward with a Circle of Sisters. In these circles we will be exploring the “Witness, Listen, Dialogue” practice that’s truly the foundation for Midwifery for the Soul.

Reserve sacred space for yourself to be with what’s calling for your love and attention and listen to the voice of your soul.

Invite the cyclical, elemental and archetypal chambers of your being, the earth and the cosmos, to be with you, serving as transformational guides and wisdom bearers for your journey inward.

Rest in your sovereignty while being held within the sacred container of a circle of sisters.
